Turkish Airlines is reporting that their airlines carried a total of 71.8 million passengers throughout the 2022 year, with international passengers numbers showing an impressive 6% increase over the last year.
It represents quite the leap for Turkish Airlines, who reported 46.3 million international passengers in 2021, with international routes hitting at 80.2%, according to Turkish Airlines in a filing with Borsa Istanbul.
In regards to domestic travel, the company says that they served 25.4 million passengers, which is down from 30.44 million reported in 2019.
Turkish Airlines increased its capacity from 69,023 four years ago to more than 80,000 last year, and the number of destinations it traveled to saw a marked increase from 318 to a very exciting 337.
Additionally, passenger flight landings was 451,677, declining from 486,941 landings in 2019 and the airline carried a total of 1.68 million tons of cargo and mail, up 8.7% when compared with 2019 numbers.
