Chinese Travelers Say News Restrictions ‘Unfair’

In the wake of China re-opening their borders that launched a new set of travel restrictions has been affecting how and where travelers are booking their trips, but travelers say it is not our of spite, according to CNBC.

The travelers claim it is because some countries are not letting them in easily. More then a dozen countries have officially announced new rules for those travelers that are departing from China, with the European Union recommending that their members require Chinese travelers to undergo COVID testing prior to entering their countries.’

However, some are saying that the COVID tests are not the problem, with  Shaun Rein, managing director of China Market Research Group saying that “these policies are directed only towards mainland Chinese” during an appearance on “Squak Box” on Monday.

“It is relatively easy and cheap to do a Covid test in China, so it will not affect my travel planning,” he explained. However, I know that many patriotic Chinese colleagues and friends will avoid those countries for now because the practice of only testing passengers arriving from China is discriminatory”.

“Of course, I think it’s unfair,” said one citizen, who asked to be called Bonnie. “But at the same time, we understand what’s going on.”
